Landworkers AllianceOn Thursday 5 February, Sustainable Food Lancashire was involved in organising the North West regional Landworkers Alliance meeting which was held at Offshoots Permaculture Project in Burnley.

The LWA are a producer-led organisation of small-scale producers and family farmers who use sustainable methods to produce food, fuel, fibre and flowers. They aim to raise awareness of the role that their members play in providing food security, environmental stewardship, livelihoods, strong communities, animal welfare and high-quality affordable food. They work to overcome the obstacles facing land-based workers face by building alliances, encouraging solidarity and campaigning for better policy for agro-ecology and food sovereignty.
